Bacteriostatic Water – 15mL

Bacteriostatic Water is a sterile water preparation used to dilute or dissolve medications for injection. It contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol which prevents bacterial growth so the water can be used multiple times within a certain time frame.

Bacteriostatic Water uses

1. Medication Dilution: It’s used to dilute medications that will be injected. This includes medications that need to be reconstituted from a powder form.
2. Solution Mixing: Bacteriostatic Water can be used to mix medications when preparing them for injection to get the right concentration.
3. Multiple Dose Injections: The benzyl alcohol preservative allows the same vial to be used multiple times which is convenient for medications that need small frequent doses.

5. Veterinary Medicine: It’s also used in veterinary medicine for the same purposes, to dilute medications for injection into animals.

Not all injections are suitable for Bacteriostatic Water especially newborns or medications that can be affected by benzyl alcohol so always consult medical professionals.
