What is Ostarine (MK-2866)?

Ostarine (MK-2866) is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that was designed as a treatment for conditions such as muscle wasting and osteoporosis.  It specifically binds to the androgen receptors without converting DHT or estrogen, making it a very popular alternative to anabolic steroids.  Although MK-2866 has no direct estrogen conversion, studies have shown mild increases in estrogen levels which is perhaps why Ostarine has been recognized for promoting joint health and healing.  It was one of the first SARMs to hit the market over 15 years ago, designed by the company GTx Inc., and is still well sought-after due to its potent anabolic effects and low toxicity, although it is still an investigational drug that has not yet been approved for medical use.

Ostarine is a popular compound for both male and female users due to its lack of virilizing effects and relatively mild side-effect profile.  The two main benefits that make Ostarine so popular in the bodybuilding community are its ability to promote lean muscle gains and increase fat loss.  It can be used for gaining and preserving muscle mass, making it popular for both cutting and bulking phases. Although it may not be the most powerful bulking compound available, it will produce gains that are purely muscle with no water retention. This makes it much easier to maintain your gains post-cycle.  In addition, you can expect a much harder physique with increased definition and vascularity when used during cutting phases.

What is the recommended dosage?

The most common dosage of Ostarine (MK-2866) for most users is between 10-30mg/day.  It has a long half-life of around 24 hours, meaning levels will remain stable throughout the day; therefore, this drug can be taken once a day and does not need to be split into multiple doses.  A typical cycle will last 8-12 weeks, followed by a minimum 4 week PCT cycle for most males.  At doses of higher than 30mg, users may begin to experience testosterone suppression, therefore, it is not recommended to take doses higher than 30mg.

What Does Ostarine Stack Well With?

Many users report that the addition of Ostarine to other anabolic steroid stacks experience results that are nothing short of amazing.  It is a versatile SARM that can be combines with many other SARMs and anabolic steroids; This includes any combination of oral/injectable compounds.  It is powerful enough to be used on its own, but is more commonly used in bulking cycles due to its ability to promote lean muscle gains and increase fat loss. 

It is important to stack Ostarine using a testosterone base due to the potential for testosterone suppression at higher doses.  If bulking is your goal, the addition of testosterone will dramatically increase your gains. The addition of Ligandrol or Ibutamoren will produce dramatic muscle gains during bulking.  With both Ostarine and Ligandrol being testosterone suppressive SARMs, it is important to run a PCT post-cycle.

If cutting is your main goal, you would be hard-pressed to find a better combination that Ostarine and Cardarine.  Both have powerful fat-loss effects, while Ostarine is a fantastic muscle preserver.  

It is highly recommended to use a PCT such as Nolvadex or Clomid after the completion of a MK-2866 cycle.
